Beauty in Motion

Motorcycling (unlike cars) is not so much about possessing it’s about riding. Car lovers love cars, but bike lovers love…riding. There’s an essential difference there. But every now and then a bike comes along that makes you WANT it. What’s your WANT-it bike? Mine is the Ducati SportClassic (GT1000). I don’t think I’d ever be able to part with my Honda, but it’s nothing much to look at. I’d love to have this sitting on the curb for all the world to see. So can we all start up a collection here? I would like this for Christmas please. Can someone at AIG throw me some petty cash? Okay, maybe not.
So what’s your WANT-it bike? For a lot of people who started riding in the past ten years it was the Monster. For younger folks (squidly types) it might have been a supersport, the R6 or GSXR. For older folks it might have been a Harley. What’s yours? Post or link to a pic if you have one…

I’m riding an SV650, I love it, it’s a wonderful bike, but I’m dying to take a Triumph Thruxton for a ride. Do I feel like I’m cheating on the loyal girlfriend? Almost…
I too ride an SV650S (Yes, I need that windshield). I like my fairings on the bike, my top choice would be the Bimota DB7. Since I can’t afford it I would probably only ride it below 30mph. Either way. In fact why don’t I just give you my whole wishlist…

1. Bimota DB7 (with the 1098 engine… gaaa i can only imagine how it sounds.)
2. Alpinestar Bionic Jacket

3. Alpinestar Bionic Neck Brace

4. Alpinestar Bionic Knee Guard

5. Aria Vector

Overall price… probably a year’s salary. I guess thats why this is all still on my wishlist.
I currently have a 1972 Honda CB350 but i’d love to have this 1954 Triumph Tiger 100.

I am very lucky because I think I own my dream bike at this point… 2003 Speed Triple in all black. I was riding a 1993 DR250 and then a 2002 SV650S and then about 2 months ago the S3 was posted on ebay for cheap.
I wouldn’t mind one of those Duc GT1000s because I think they are awful purty, and there are a number of other bikes out there that I think would be cool to check out but for me the S3 is pretty perfect.
Oh yeah I second the A*s neck brace. Reading the description makes me nervous that I don’t have one.
“reduce the risk and severity of a catastrophic neck injury”
“The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support (BNS) is a structure which is designed to work with a helmet to reduce the risk and severity of a catastrophic neck injury (i.e. a paralyzing injury) while riding motocross or off-road. While no product can guarantee protection from all motorcycle injuries, due to the varied dynamics of accidents, the BNS is designed to substantially reduce the likelihood of a career ending neck injury although it must be stated at the outset that it, as with other such systems, may not prevent injuries occurring in all cases. The BNS comes with its own carrying bag for extra convenience. “
I was just looking at that very Ducati this morning when I took my bonneville in for its 6K service. Nice bike. Looks even more muscular in person.
