So the blogosphere is filled with lists these days… 25 things about you, the BBC reading list, and so forth. So how about a CityBiker list? Here’s what you do: Copy the list and put an ‘X’ next to the things you’ve done. “Newbie” items are 1 point, “Bounty Hunter” items are 2 points, and “Jedi master” tasks are 3 points… Add up your total points and show us what you got!
Newbie (add 1 point for each):
___ Get your motorcycle driver’s license
___ Ride two-up
___ Go for a single 100 mile ride
___ Get the bike on and off the center stand or rear stand
___ 30 minute ride in the rain
___ Park on a public street for at least a month straight
___ Picked up a fallen bike
___ Clean, lube, and adjust the chain
___ Adjust the throttle and clutch cable
___ Do your own oil and filter change
Bounty Hunter (add 2 points for each):
___ Ride 200 miles in a single day
___ Take an advanced rider’s course (or track day school)
___ Upshift and downshift without using the clutch
___ Drag a peg or some other piece of a bike or scooter
___ Get rid of chicken strips (as much as possible on your bike)
___ Fix a flat tire
___ Get your knee down
___ Get the front wheel off the ground
___ Ride 100ft in the snow
___ Install new brake pads
___ Remove and install a front or rear wheel
Jedi Master (add 3 points for each):
___ Ride 500 miles in a single day
___ Install a new clutch
___ Get the rear wheel off the ground (stoppie)
___ Slide a rear wheel in a turn (“back it in”) whether intentionally or unintentionally

4 point items:
__ Multi-day motorcycle trip, camping for one or more nights
__ 5 years or 50,000 miles accident and ticket free
__ Speaking to a champion motorcycle racer
__ Install new fork internals and seals
__ Disassemble, clean, and reassemble carbeurators
__ Regularly ride far enough into winter that the only other bikes you see on the road are BMWs (bonus point if you are NOT on a BMW)
__ Ride more than 5 miles with a broken or missing clutch lever
5 point items:
__ Ride 1,000 miles in a 24 hour period
__ Earn a podium position in an organized, sanctioned motorcycle race
__ Finish top 3 in a hill climb, ice race, or trials competition
10 point items:
__ Ride the Baja 1000
__ Win an organized, sanctioned motorcycle race
__ Tour for a month or more, bonus points for entering the Arctic Circle or crossing from one continent to another

19- I guess I need to start working on my bike more. I would get another +4 off of Abe’s list for my work on a 1975 Bultaco carb.
