How to clean anything in 30sec or less…
Jul 30th, 2009 by Leo
So you’ve been riding around in the rain like a crazy citybiker, which is great, but at the end of the week you have all sorts of road crud on your bike. How do you clean that off, along with chain grease, unwanted factory stickers on fairings, along with anything else than could possible be stuck onto your bike? You could spend hours with soap and water, with some sort of grease fighting detergent… Or you can grab a can of WD-40 and a rag. It will clean or remove anything…especially that greasy sticky mess.
For painted plastic parts just spray a bit onto a rag and wipe. For metal parts, spray the WD-40 straight on. For rusted bolts, spray and let it sit. If you’re reinstalling a bolt that has corrosion or crud on it, spray a little WD-40 into the plastic cap and drop the bolt in for a few minutes, then wipe it clean. You can use it to clean the chain, or just spray some onto a rag for a quick wipe down after riding in the rain. But most of you already knew this… By the way, John Barry, the inventor of WD-40 died this past month…you can read his obit here.

Getting stickers off is way easy if you heat them up with a hair dryer.
Yep, and then use WD-40 or a little kerosene to get rid of the sticky residue.
