West Point to Cornwall

We don’t have canyons in the North East. Not even close. But we do have some nice scenic rides. If you can get up there this weekend, it looks like it’s worth a ride through… A little google map after the jump.
For some reason you have to move the map a little to center the route on 218. Cheers!

I have done this ride many times before, and being a nycity slicker, it is one of my favorites! FYI…I literally went to ride this yesterday (9/28/09) and imagine my surprise when I got there and the road was closed. I don’t know why, but I have to figure it has something to do with the proximity to West Point. I had to settle for the 9W end-around. Worst moment of the day, by far. How do we find out the “closing schedule”? Any help is appreciated.
I love this ride! Also being a NYC rider, definitely one of my favorites if not my favorite.
