I have mixed feelings about GPS devices since they can be a dangerous distraction, but when you’re going someplace far and hard to find, they are lifesavers! The problem with some commercially made gps mounts is that they put the gps lower in your field of view than the speedo. Too low to see the turn indicator while keeping your eyes on the road. This solution is not only cheaper, it locates the GPS in a better spot… And…you can take your GPS with you when you park. Great idea man, A+!
I think it would work even better using the Dual-lock “velcro” made by 3M – the kind that comes with EZPass tags.
