Looks like New York has started cracking down on motorcycles parking on the streets – I get ticketed every single day now! Granted, the cops are apparently too stupid to issue tickets properly, so virtually every single one of them is disputable, but I’m considering taking my license plates off, when parked (or replacing it with “license applied for” type of thing)… It’s crazy!

Excellent blog. I’m a Northern Californian who may move to NY soon, specifically Manhattan. I’ve been very worried about the riding conditions in Manhattan because the traffic seems more aggressive and the weather isn’t as forgiving, but this blog has helped me become informed. I was previously going to say “screw it” and not ride in NYC, but after reading this, I realized that I can still ride. Thank you!

Fantastic site! I’m a novice and found LOADS of useful information here that should help me get started. I also happen to live in NJ and work in Manhattan, so it’s double more useful that you’re writing with NY angle in mind.

I started my blog much for the same reasons you started yours, though mine is focused upon the 2010 Road King Classic, a bike I’m rather passionate about and a bike that’s too new (or not followed enough, perhaps because of the economy) to get much attention in the blogosphere.
